About William

The game was never
just a sport.

Soccer found William before he had a choice.

Growing up in Manhattan with summers spent in Porto, Portugal, the game was a language spoken on both sides of the Atlantic. His grandfather pulled on the jersey of FC Porto and represented Portugal at the highest level. That legacy didn't create pressure. It created purpose.

William went on to compete as a Division I midfielder — first at Rutgers, where he was part of a Big Ten Championship-winning squad, then at Rider University, where he helped deliver a MAAC Regular Season title and graduated Cum Laude with a degree in Communications and Journalism. Along the way, he earned the Academic Achievement Award from the Department of Athletics in both Spring and Fall 2024.

He is chasing a professional career in soccer. But William knows that athletes have a shelf life and stories don't. His Communications degree is not a backup plan — it is the second act he is already preparing for. Whether in front of a camera, in a broadcast booth, or in a front office, he brings the same competitive discipline he learned on the pitch.

Manhattan raised him.  Porto shaped him.  The game defined him.
